What advice would you now give to someone writing his/her first scientific paper?

After the experience of writing a research paper, I have realized that writing research papers can be very difficult. Advice that I would give someone else writing a research paper would be that they have to allow enough time to get all of the research on their topic. It sis important to use in text citations correctly and at any time you use someone Else's work, or even when you paraphrase. The paper is very time consuming, so it is important to allow yourself time to work on it so you will have it finished by the due date.
After completing my research paper on "Marijuana and AIDS", I am very proud. It was time consuming, and in the end i kind of found myself having to do some extra research to make it sound complete, I was nervous that i wouldn't get it done in time. The topic that I wrote about was sort of a hard topic to do research on, because I had a hard time finding the things that I wanted to use in my paper. I did get it done on time, but I still feel that I could have done better. I am hoping when the professor grades it, I get a passing grade.

With your paper done or almost done, how do you feel

With my paper finished i feel great! I finally have it all completed and i think that it looks good! The whole process of writing this paper was very stressful. I ran into a lot of complications and i found myself having to change things at the last minute. After finishing it i am very relieved. I hope that everything is in the correct format. Some of my in text citations i am very worried about tho. I am not sure if i have everything in order, I actually had 2 papers due in 2 different classes and i am plain out tired of writing! My hand hurts and so does my brain lol. Its has been a very busy last 9 weeks. I am glad that i have found all of my research for my topic and proud to have written a great paper.

Do you plan to continue your blog even after the course?

After this class ends, to be honest, i probably will not post anything to my blog. I will most likely not write anything new on my blog. Because sometimes i hardly have any time to do anything except homework and cleaning, and taking care of the children. Although posting to the blog as an assignment is pretty cool, i think that If i find something that i would want to write about, then i could maybe find the time to post it. The Blog experience has been very interesting i enjoyed it but i most likely will not be using it after this class, unless it is another requirement for another class.

How do you feel about peer reviews? What have your experiences with them been like?

I think that peer reviews are very helpful during writing a research paper. The reviews help give me some great advice when it comes to writing My paper. It is nice to get some great points on how to make my paper better. I like peer reviews because it gives me the chance to see how my paper looks to other people who read it. An experience that i had of peer review occurred in high school where the teacher would have us exchange papers and the other student would grade or look over it to see where my mistakes are or where i can change a few things to make the writing sound better. I would have to say that i am excited about peer review and getting all of the help i can get to complete my research paper.

Share what you have personally been dealing with the last six weeks.

I have taken this class before and i failed it. So my second attempt these past six weeks have been really good for me. I have a better understanding about everything this time around. And i think the reason for this is because i can attend all of the seminars this time each week, and the professor is so cool. She is very easy to get along with and she understands me very well. Getting all of the assignments done for each week on time has been a great success. I have not turned in one late assignment during these six weeks.Which i am very proud of. One thing that i am nervous about is writing my research paper that is due in about four weeks. I am hoping that the time i have to complete the paper is enough time for me to put everything together the way that it fits and makes sense. I am looking forward to the next 4 weeks of this class.

How is school influencing your life at or up to this point?

When i first started college, i was so worried that i wouldn't be able to do all of the hard work as a medical assistant student. I have 2 kids and no job, so i decided to go to college online to become more successful and be able to provide for my family. So far i have come into many complications within my courses, but i have not given up, because it will all be worth it! I really like taking the online classes because i have time to work on all of my assignments and to take care of all my responsibilities at home. I am proud of everything that i have accomplished in this wonderful journey of my lifetime. I am excited about graduating and getting a great paying job to provide my family and i with all of the things we each need in life! Going back to school has changed my life for the best. i am very satisfied with the decisions that i have made.

After reading and learning about plagiarism it is important to have resources and to use in text citations to give the author credit for his work. The author could get very upset if he found out that his quotes were used, and he was not giving the credit for his work. It could result to a lawsuit or other risks.
I think that if someone used my words and made them their own it would make me very upset becuse i did not put all that effort into one thing for someone to come along and take it.
Citing the quotes that i use in my paper is very important because i do not want to steal anyone Else's work. I am hoping that i find a lot of great information about my topic. I would like to have most of my own words in my paper, because that way i can be sure that i wont be using anyone Else's work. It would make me feel better about my work.
